Daughters of the American Revolution
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization. DAR members volunteer millions of service hours annually in their local communities including supporting active duty military personnel and assisting veteran patients, awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships and financial aid each year to students, and supporting schools for underserved children with annual donations exceeding one million dollars.
Patriotism
The Mahoning Chapter is proud to serve veterans. Daughters donate necessities to the local Veterans Affairs facility, thank them at our annual Veterans Day meeting, and participate in the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War Commemoration.
Education
The Mahoning NSDAR Chapter each year endorses Mahoning Valley high school seniors for DAR scholarships and the Good Citizens contest. Our chapter also donates annually to NSDAR supported schools and scholarships funds.
Historic Preservation
Historic preservation is one of the key pillars of which NSDAR was founded. Mahoning NSDAR Chapter members take pride in being the oldest continuously operating chapter in Ohio.
